Hi, I’m Hazel. I first came to SBACC in 2019. I was found by the side of the road, probably hit by a car. I was having trouble breathing and couldn’t walk or even stand and my hind end was paralyzed. I was immediately sent to the vet where I was hospitalized for several days. They said nothing was broken and none of my discs were ruptured but that I had a spinal cord injury and had a good chance for recovery. I came back to SBACC and got the best care in the world. I went for laser treatments and acupuncture and I slowly regained use of my legs and started to walk again! All the volunteers spent loads of time with me and I got lots of love and attention. I have a bit of a balance problem and a little sway when I walk but it doesn’t really slow me down. I’m friendly and affectionate and I was adopted and had a home for two years but something went wrong and I was returned to SBACC. I’ve been to the vet to be checked out and so far all is well. My wish is for another home with a family who will love and cherish me forever.
