Hi, I’m Ellie Mae. I was rescued from a Seal Beach Park. I don’t know how I got there or what I was doing there because I know I had a home at one time. I was not in the best of shape and I was very frightened. I was sent to the vet and given antibiotics for my respiratory infection. They discovered that I had stomatitis which was a really bad inflammation of my mouth and gums and I needed to have all my teeth extracted. I was sure glad when that was over and now I am feeling so much better and loving my food. I was adopted by a very nice woman who had a dog. She did her best to make me comfortable, but I remained frightened of the dog, and after several months she brought me back to SBACC hoping that someone else might have the right home for me. I’m really happy at SBACC now. I have a special friend in my room who is also a senior and the 2 of us are the greeters in our room. We get lots of attention and treats from all the volunteers and get to sun ourselves on the catio. It feels like home.
