Hi, I’m Paws. My brother, Mitts, and I were left behind in a Seal Beach apartment when the tenant was evicted. Our names come from the fact that we are both polydactyl meaning that we have extra toes. My front paws are really, really big but not nearly as big as Mitt’s paws. We are both super friendly and very bonded to each other. I don’t know how long we might have been without food but I was jaundiced and wasn’t eating. Mitts was fine and was quickly adopted. His new Mom met me and said she would take me home too when I was OK. I was sent to the vet for evaluation and was hospitalized for several days. At first, I was syringe fed, and then fed with a naso-gastric tube, and then after a few days and still not eating, I had surgery for insertion of a feeding tube. I came back to SBACC and was fed 3X a day through my feeding tube. After a while, I started to eat on my own again and my feeding tube was removed after several weeks. Despite all of this I am still the sweetest, friendliest cat ever, I love everyone and will climb right into your arms given the opportunity. Mitt’s Mom came to visit me several times and now I am all better and am going home with her and will be reunited with my brother! My luck sure did change!!
